Did you ever wonder how astronomers know so much about places where humans have never been?  The answer is usually spectroscopy!  Spectroscopy turns light from outer space into a rainbow-colored fingerprint that can reveal astounding things about the universe.  In this make-and-take activity, you’ll construct your own cardboard spectroscope.

Geauga Skywatchers is an astronomy presentation series founded by a collaboration of organizations interested in promoting scientific thinking to the young and young-at-heart through the study and practice of astronomy. Collaborators are Chagrin Valley Astronomical Society, Geauga County Library System, Burton Public Library, Geauga Park District and The Foundation for Geauga Parks.
