Having previously learned about the 3 apparent motions of the sun & discovered the size and shape of the earth, we now discover the equinoxes & solstices, the solar anomaly & length of seasons, and precession of the equinoxes. Geocentrism, while wrong, still has the power to teach valid concepts of modern astronomy!

Join International Women's Air & Space Museum's Executive Director Sara Fisher as we explore the role of women in aviation and aerospace. Participants will learn about their accomplishments, obstacles, and their enduring legacy in all areas of aviation and aerospace. From the first woman to solo a balloon in the 18th century to Bessie Coleman's dream to establish a flight school to the women who briefly called the International Space Station home, this program provides a glimpse into lesser known histories.

The Edible Book Festival is an annual book-themed international food contest held on April fools. Every year, the Burton Library holds a celebration, but due to the current state, our 19th annual will be of the virtual kind!!
